It’s the busiest time of year whether we like it or not. We are busy visiting with friends and family, shopping, baking, wrapping, and more. It might be easy to say, I don’t have time to go to yoga. But now is when you need yoga the most. And by yoga, I mean anything that gets you out of your Christmas head for an hour or so. Whether it’s yoga, crossfit, running, walking, or your favourite fitness class.
What are the benefits of adding an hour of yoga to your already jam-packed day?
.1. TIME FOR YOURSELF //
Get away from the hustle and bustle for an hour. If only for an hour, take the time to get out of your head, let go of the stress of the holidays and enjoy moving within your own body and breath. Surround yourself with like minded people in a safe space of no negatively, no Christmas music, no stress.
.2. BURN OFF SOME HOLIDAY CALORIES //
The holidays are a great time for trying new treats and sweets, for eating large family meals, and of course indulging in sugar cookies. I am all about enjoying the holiday season, but I also believe in balance. You’re not going to burn off all those extra goodies, but by moving your body you will feel so much better! This is also a nice kickstart into all those New Year’s Resolutions to get fit in the new year!

Whether you love the holidays or if it’s a tough time of year for you, seeing your friends and acquaintances at your local yoga studio will bring a smile to your face.

Do you normally turn to a glass of wine or a cigarette to unwind or de-stress during the holidays? Why not make yoga a part of your weekly routine and reap the benefits of moving your body. Yoga is amazing for the body and the mind. Whether you take a gentle hatha class or a sweaty power class, there is a style of yoga for everyone.
