HOW TO DEAL WITH FEAR

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by <3

Fear is prominent in everyone’s lives. It can keep us safe (think survival), but it can also hold us back from the lives we want to be living.

Every day we make decisions based on our fears, and that keeps us safe. But we also say no to opportunities because of fear that has nothing to do with survival. These fears come from a place of feeling inadequate.

Here are my tips for dealing with your fears and tackling your goals:

1. FAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT //

If you feel that you don’t have the experience for that new job that you want, fake it. You know what you need to do in that job, so go out there and do it the very best of your ability.

2. ASK FOR HELP //

If you are avoiding something in your life because of fear, ask a friend or loved one to be a support for you. Ask them to offer (truthful) encouragement to you to give you the push you need to go after what you truly want.

3. IMAGINE THE BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME //

It’s so easy to imagine the worst possible outcome and this is often why we talk ourselves out of trying something new. But, imagine if instead of thinking of all the things that could go wrong, you thought of all the things that could go right?!

4. GIVE YOURSELF A PEP TALK //

When your friend has doubts, you give them a pep talk, right? You remind them of all their good qualities and why they would be so successful at this new idea they have. So when you have doubts, give yourself the same pep talk you would give a friend!

5. WRITE DOWN YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS //

When in doubt, write down all the things you have already accomplished in your life! In no time, you will have the proof you need to go after anything else you could dream up!
