HOW TO WRITE YOUR OWN NARRATIVE

HOW TO WRITE YOUR OWN NARRATIVE

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by <3

There are always going to be events in your life that you have no control over. However, the way you navigate through those events is entirely up to you. You write the narrative of your story.

Whether you want to share your experience with others, or hold them in tight. That is up to you. You need to write the story that defines you the way you want to see yourself in the world. Not how you want others to see you (you can’t control others’ opinions of you), but how you want to see yourself. How do you want to interact with the world?

Here are my tips for writing the narrative to your story:

1. GET A HOLD OF YOUR EMOTIONS //

I don’t mean bottle them in. I mean control your emotions, don’t let them control you. Give yourself space to work through the emotions you are feeling. Give yourself time everyday to check in with how you are feeling. Whether you are feeling anger, frustration, sadness, happiness, etc. Give yourself time everyday to sit with yourself and allow the emotions to wash over you.

When you have designated time in your day to work through your emotions, it will become easier to control them, knowing that you will allow them time to be heard at some point during your day.

Try using my “working through emotions worksheet”.

2. ALLOW YOURSELF PERMISSION TO BE YOU //

Stop worrying about what others think of you. No matter how “good” of a person you are, some people won’t like you just because you’re you.

If you want to be quiet, be quiet, if you want to be vocal about what is going on around you, then be loud and vocal!

The only person who should be deciding how you act and interact with the world, is you.

3. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH YOUR PEOPLE //

Even if you’re totally confident in being yourself, it can be a tough, critic filled world out there. It can be difficult to stay true to you when there are so many voices telling you to be different. The best way to build up your wall is to surround yourself with people that love you just as you are. Who support you through your journey of being the best version of you!

4. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT //

Everyday practice being the person you want to be. It’s going to take time to break away from old habits and to resist the urge to comply to the critics. But if you truly want to be happy and be you, you must practice, practice, practice being the person you want to be!

Are you writing the narrative to your story? Please share in the comments!

.Namaste.
